Bennett & Game are delighted to be partnering with a highly experienced and reputable accountancy practice based in Grays, as they look to recruit a new Tax Manager. This medium sized practice has 3 different locations, and 5 partners. They boast a very staff retention rate, and this position has become available due to a retirement. They are offering from £50-65k per annum, hybrid working, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, business travel, auto pension enrolment, and sick pay of 20 days.

You will be managing an extensive portfolio of personal tax returns and other ad hoc tax advice for clients, all whilst playing a vital part in developing and increasing the firm's reach, and expanding the portfolio.
Tax Manager Position Overview
1. Tax Compliance: Reviewing and managing corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and other tax filings prepared by the team, ensuring all submissions are accurate and compliant.
2. Tax Advisory: Provide tailored tax planning advice to clients, and advise them on the implications of tax changes and opportunities for tax efficiency.
3. Client Relations: Managing a portfolio of clients across different industries. Attending client meetings, visiting clients, and acting as the main point of contact for any tax-related queries.
4. Technical Expertise: Staying current with changes in tax legislation and regulations.
5. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks for clients.
6. Tax Planning: Developing and implementing tax planning strategies.
7. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring their development and progression, and direct the team towards company targets and goals.
8. Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, including accounts and audit teams.
9. Strategy and Business Development: Identify and implement opportunities to improve the firm's tax services and develop the portfolio.
Tax Manager Position Requirements
1. Can be QBE, but also suited to ACCA, ACA, FCCA, ICAEW, CTA qualified candidates.
2. Experience working within tax in a practice environment, with an excellent understanding of personal tax and corporate tax.
3. Minimum of 5 years Accountancy practice experience.
4. UK Citizen and no requirement for sponsorship.
5. Able to commute to Grays office.
6. Well spoken, polite, professional, personable, and ambitious individual required.
Tax Manager Position Remuneration
1. Salary in the £50k-65k (depending on experience).
2. Hybrid working split of 2 days WFH and 3 days in office.
3. Flexible working hours, but standard hours of 9-5 with 1 hour lunch.
4. 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
5. Pension entitlement per auto-enrolment.
