Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
As an Engineering Apprentice, you will develop the skills and knowledge required to support the maintenance and engineering functions within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
You will undergo a structured training program, including hands-on experience and academic learning, to achieve a Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
Your role will involve assisting the engineering team in maintaining equipment, reducing downtime, and ensuring the smooth operation of production lines.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working under the supervision of experienced engineers.
Working closely with production, quality, and health & safety teams to support business objectives.
Responsible for learning and adhering to all health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
Accountable for completing coursework, practical assessments, and on-the-job training as per the apprenticeship program requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Training & Development:
* Complete a structured training program, including a first-year academic foundation at TDR Training.
* Gain a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
* Work towards achieving a Level 3 qualification in Engineering
Maintenance & Repairs:
* Assist in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of production machinery and equipment.
* Support engineers in diagnosing faults and implementing corrective actions.
* Participate in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to reduce equipment downtime.
* Health & Safety & Compliance:
Follow all company health & safety regulations and food manufacturing hygiene standards.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
* Report any safety concerns or equipment issues to the engineering team.
* Continuous Improvement:
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
* Learn and apply lean manufacturing techniques and problem-solving skills.
* Contribute to engineering projects that improve production processes.
