Purpose of the Role: The Data Centre Shift Manager will oversee the operational management of shift teams responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a data centre portfolio. This role is critical to maintaining uptime and ensuring that all environmental and operational conditions meet required standards. As the operational focal point during shifts, the Shift Manager will also act as the primary representative in case of incidents or emergencies. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership to the shift team, ensuring contractual commitments are met and exceeded. Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure all tasks are delivered to schedule and industry best practices. Respond promptly to reactive and breakdown works on M&E systems, building fabric, and infrastructure within the facility. Supervise all on-site operations, ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of critical systems. Enforce health and safety policies for both staff and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards. Own and maintain the PPM plan, including record-keeping for ISO 9002 quality management accreditation. Utilize the Client’s CMMS system to monitor performance and ensure service delivery. Supervise specialist service contractors, including induction, task reviews, and actioning minor works. Actively participate in incident management, following Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) and escalating issues as required. Conduct inspections of building fabric and M&E systems to ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and best practices. Accountabilities: Report to the Engineering Operations Manager. Maintain accountability to the client and ensure seamless service delivery. Support accreditation and quality standards by upholding record-keeping and compliance requirements. Ideal Candidate Profile: Extensive experience in managing teams within a critical environment, preferably in data centres. Strong understanding of M&E systems, building fabric, and infrastructure operations. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and supervise teams effectively. Proficient in using CAFM/CMMS systems for monitoring and reporting. Commitment to health and safety standards, with a proactive approach to risk mitigation. Why Join?
