Our client is an established engineering and manufacturing firm located in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. If you have experience with concept design, regulated industry standards, machinery and mechanical handling for heavy engineering sectors then we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the entire process of designing mechanical products or systems
2. Oversee project planning including resource allocation
3. Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines within your area of expertise
4. Collaborate closely with internal teams such as production managers and quality assurance personnel
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Mechanical Engineering Degree: A bachelor's degree (or higher) in this field will ensure that applicants possess adequate technical knowledge.
Conceptual Design Experience: Candidates should be able to demonstrate extensive experience developing conceptual designs using CAD software packages like SolidWorks.
Regulated Industry Knowledge: Successful candidates must understand how regulations work for industries where safety requirements can impact product development processes (e.g., aerospace).
Machinery Expertise: Applicants who show exceptional skills working with complex machines will receive priority consideration during the selection process.
Mechanical Handling Capability: The ideal candidate would also have hands-on practical exposure when it comes down specifically towards managing/heavy lifting equipment used by our clients' customers.
For the successul Mechanical Design Manager, a salary of up to £82k + Package is on offer and this Mechanical Design Manager role is commutable from Wolverhampton, Dudley, West Brom, Birmingham, Telford, Cannock, Stafford, Stourbridge & Dudley and my client also operates a hybrid & flexible working policy for its Engineers.
