Job summary We are seeking to appoint an experienced Clinical Endoscopist Lead for the Endoscopy Academy of Wales. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of endoscopy training in Wales, contributing to the professional development of the NHS workforce while ensuring the highest standards in training delivery and governance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Programme Manager and programme team to develop and deliver high-quality training programmes, including the Endoscopy 10 Pathways Training Programme, and support the professional development of clinical endoscopists and the broader workforce through academy courses and JAG-accredited programmes. The successful candidate will also be working alongside the Endoscopy Nurse Lead. This post is being offered as a secondment opportunity only. Main duties of the job The Clinical Endoscopist Lead will be central to the delivery of the Clinical Endoscopist training programme and supporting clinical endoscopist professional development at a national level. They will support the development and take a central role in the delivery team for a range of courses for the NHS Endoscopy workforce, support clinical leads with training implementation, and ensure compliance with JAG accredited courses. The role also involves strategic leadership, working as part of the endoscopy academy senior leadership team to develop and refine Academy governance, ensure quality assurance, and support the hub-and-spoke training model. The post-holder will represent the Endoscopy Academy of Wales at key forums and groups, manage stakeholder relationships, and communicate effectively across partnerships.
