* About the Role:
o Deliver engaging and inspiring Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of physical, human, and environmental geography topics.
o Develop and implement effective lesson plans that incorporate fieldwork, map skills, data analysis, and discussions of contemporary geographical issues, encouraging critical thinking and a sense of global responsibility.
o Assess student progress through fieldwork reports, presentations, and assessments, providing constructive feedback to enhance their geographical understanding.
o Contribute to the development of the geography curriculum within the framework of the school's Catholic ethos and participate in departmental initiatives.
o Potentially organize and lead fieldwork opportunities to relevant locations.
* Ideal Candidate:
o Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Geography.
o A strong understanding of the secondary geography curriculum and effective teaching methodologies, including fieldwork.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate female students in the study of geography.
o Proficiency in using geographical software and resources is desirable.
o A passion for the subject and a commitment to fostering an understanding of the world and its people within a Catholic ethical framework.
