Main duties of the job
What your typical day looks like:
Serving as theinitial contact for the public regarding urgent healthcare concerns.
Assessing patientsusing NHS Pathways to direct them to the most suitable care.
Effectivelymanaging instructions and inquiries from surgery staff, clinicians, andexternal agencies following up with appropriate actions and responses.
Impactfullycontributing to patients well-being.
Offering generalcomfort and being a source of solace.
To be a successful Health Advisor youllneed:

Job responsibilities
The health advisor willbe part of a multi-professional/skilled team including clinical and supportstaff providing accessible health services to the population across Derbyshireand surrounding areas. A commitment to quality service and excellence in allthat DHU Health Care undertakes are integral to the role and the development ofthe service. The post holder will participate in promoting and advancing DHUHealth Care.
1. Answering calls fromthe general public in an efficient and courteous manner using agreed DHU, NHSPathways and 111 policies, protocols and standards.
2. Accurately recording,checking or amending details on the call logging computer system Adastra.
3. Signpost patients tothe appropriate care using the Directory of Services where appropriate.
4. Triage patient callsusing the NHS Pathways triage system.
5. Deal appropriatelywith instructions and queries from surgery staff, clinicians and outsideagencies.
6. Maintain a tidyoffice/call centre at all times.
7. Assist in general administrativeand clerical duties and maintain manual/computerised records as required, in aprofessional timely manner.
8. Adhere to allprocedures, protocols and other relevant memorandum as appropriate.
9. Provide assistance tonew members of staff and assist in training and mentoring to ensure themaintenance of a high quality service.
10. Attend training andmeetings as and when required to do so by Management.
11. Maintain strictconfidentiality in relation to all issues concerned within the service andadhere to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1984, InformationGovernance and Caldicott Principles.
12. Maintaining equipment checking systems and printers as necessary and reporting any faults via theElectronic Shift Report to IT or senior member of staff.
13. Provide cover forsickness, bank holidays, annual leave, etc for any call handler/receptionist asrequested including working flexibly at other DHU sites.

Comprehensive 7 weeks Pathwaystraining course provided plus ongoing development throughout your DHU Career!We offer AM and PM training courses, and you will need to commit to full timetraining.
