Overview
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Electrical Draughtsperson/Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical design and be proficient in various design software. This role involves creating detailed schematics and designs for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The Electrical Designer will collaborate with engineers and other professionals to deliver high-quality projects that meet client expectations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Designing fire alarms, evacuation alert systems, and sprinkler alarms.
* Creating a set of drawing standards for the division.
* Supporting the Electrical division technically.
* Assisting the residential and commercial sprinkler design teams with monitoring schematics.
* Creating detailed drawings and schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, ensuring designs are correct the first time.
* Producing electrical BOMs.
* Producing as-built drawings.
* Updating all electrical drawings promptly throughout the lifecycle of the project and sharing with relevant departments.
* Maintaining a database of preferred electrical devices to ensure consistency in functional hardware from project to project.
Attend site to undertake:
* Site surveys to fully capture all project-related data.
* ‘As-Built’ installation surveys necessary to amend construction issued deliverables.
* Ensuring full adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management policies and procedures in all work undertaken.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a drafting role is necessary.
* Attention to detail with the ability to produce technical drawings.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Create 2D engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) derived from 3D models.
* Prepare and manage all design-related documentation, including generating design files, recording relevant calculations, and compiling documentation required for UKCA/CE compliance.
* Maintain and update existing design documentation.
* Organize and lead design concept and scope meetings as needed to establish design criteria.
* Proactively identify and propose improvements to current product designs.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
* Expert proficiency with CAD software.
* Familiarity with electrical/electronic products is advantageous.
* Strong mechanical design skills and ability to perform engineering calculations.
