A Process Engineer Specialist will interface closely with other cross-functional groups such as Operations, Facilities, Engineering, and Regulatory, acting as a direct liaison between these departments to ensure that projects or improvements identified are implemented in a timely fashion with full compliance to local or global documented procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily hands-on support to operations team.
* Identify and execute improvement projects (capital and non-capital) that fit within the site objectives. Lead Kaizen projects and events.
* Lead Quality investigations and RCA activities.
* Facilitate FMEA.
* Identify and deliver cost savings.
* Identify opportunities to improve process capability, machine performance, and uptime.
* Provide technical knowledge & expertise to enable implementation of identified opportunities.
* Review and implement any Chemical engineering design as required for improvement.
* Mechanical and process experience to implement and support installation or upgrades of equipment.
* Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets.
* Supporting & collaborating with plant management, affected employees, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of identified process improvements.
* Develop improved training and development tools in direct relation to process operations and use these to improve the understanding and knowledge on site.
* Working to identify and resolve EHS, Quality, and productivity issues.
* Define and complete activities to improve process safety on site.
* Drive improvements in operational excellence-based activities. KPI development, key process documentation, data collection, efficiency improvement, and data analysis.
* Completing change control, equipment qualification, and process validation activities as required for implementing change opportunities.
* Complete the relevant activities defined by the Continuous Improvement Roadmap to drive improvements in performance, capability, and engagement within the plant.
* Drive improved engagement of the factory team in CI through regular effective communication, training, and involvement in CI activities.
* Complete root cause investigation activities as required using process and test data to drive team-based decisions and activities.
Skills & Experience:
* High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
* Experience working on Chemical engineering-based activities.
* Management of project roadmaps.
* Good communication skills.
* Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
* Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment, and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Mechanical/engineering qualification or demonstrated experience.
Qualifications/Education:
* Degree, or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline.
* Six Sigma Green Belt, or demonstrates a similar approach to problem-solving.
* PC Skills including SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, CAD, Visio.
* APM/Prince 2 project management foundation as minimum requirement.
* Demonstrated experience in project management from start to full implementation.
* Trained in IQ, OQ, PQ validation principles.
* Strong working knowledge of problem-solving tools.
* Kaizen lead trained.
* Understanding of Health and Safety at Work.
Travel Requirements:
* Percentage of working time involving travel, and travel destination(s). Position may involve travel up to 10% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.
