At East Neuk Veterinary Clinic in beautiful Fife, we have a rare opportunity for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join us on a permanent basis. We are seeking a compassionate leader who is committed to inspiring and developing their team whilst delivering high standards of patient care. Interests in orthopaedic cases, anaesthesia, and diagnostic imaging would be beneficial to excel in this role. Our clinic offers both First Opinion and Orthopaedic Referral services, presenting the opportunity to work across both domains.
Your main duties will include:
1. Nursing rotas
2. Arranging holidays
3. Leading the surgical day
4. Ensuring the team are supported
5. Making sure the day-to-day running of the clinic is smooth
We are looking for someone who will hold the team to a high standard and lead by example in their nursing methods. There will be a mix of duties so time will be split between office work and working on the floor with the team.
We have well-equipped, spacious operating theatres with Multiparameter Monitoring, DR X-Ray, plus a new Siemens CT scanner and ultrasound. We stock Arthrex and Synthes fracture plating and TPLO systems, whilst the clinic also has CUE, Synacart and the Biometrix THR kits available. At East Neuk we believe in providing all our staff with the best equipment available.
Our team is central to our mission, and we recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance to help them thrive. This is a full-time role, with 40 hours spread across 4 days per week, including a rotating weekend schedule of 1:10. Shifts typically fall within the hours of 7:30 am to 6:30 pm / 8:00 am to 7:00 pm or 9:30 am to 8:30 pm. There are no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities associated with this position.

Two of our surgeons hold prestigious RCVS and European Specialist qualifications in Small Animal Surgery, and we're fortunate to have numerous experienced Certificate Holders and Advanced Practitioners on board.
