Mechanical Project Engineer required for a major water framework in the Southern Water region, working primarily on pumping stations.
This is a site-based role, 5 days a week, overseeing subcontractors and managing the technical delivery of mechanical installations. Responsible for ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards, with a strong focus on site-based execution and operational readiness.
Duties:
1. Oversee on-site delivery of mechanical works, ensuring adherence to project programs and timelines.
2. Monitor and report on site productivity, compliance with standards, and task completion.
3. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of site activities.
4. Conduct risk assessments and report project risks and changes.
5. Collaborate with designers for practical design adjustments and problem-solving on-site.
6. Ensure safe and compliant delivery of works, meeting statutory and regulatory requirements.
7. Manage operational assets on-site prior to client handover.
8. Liaise with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders to maintain project progress and address site issues.
9. Monitor commercial performance on-site in collaboration with the commercial team.
Candidate Description:
1. Strong engineering background with relevant qualifications.
2. Experience in water, oil & gas, or process engineering projects, particularly in MEICA installations.
3. Practical understanding of on-site management, particularly with pumping stations or similar infrastructure.
4. Proven ability to manage subcontractors and site activities effectively.
5. SMSTS, CSCS, or equivalent safety management qualifications.
6. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
7. Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
