Electronic Sustainment Engineer

We are recruiting for an Electronic Sustainment Engineer with lifecycle experience.
You will be responsible for reviewing designs in existing projects and assisting in the obsolescence of electronic elements. This will be through discussions with clients, re-designing hardware, creating design requirements and development plans, all based on client requirements, legislation cost, and reliability.
This role is a safety-critical position within the business. You will understand clients' requirements and create clear hardware design requirement documents and hardware development plans.
Analysing, commissioning, and verifying analogue and digital circuits will be part of your role.
Role Requirements – Electronic Sustainment Engineer
* Documenting design activities and ensuring traceability of design to requirements, whilst also ensuring adherence to relevant project, company, or regulatory standards and processes.
* Work collaboratively with systems, safety, software, and mechanical engineers to ensure that hardware level requirements have been met and to overcome trade-offs or problems identified in the design.
* Contributing to the development of system architectures and considering alternative concepts and trade studies in order to determine evidence-led preferred solutions.
* Providing support to production to resolve build or obsolescence issues, and supporting customer requests or investigations.
* Planning, generating, performing, and validating results of hardware verification plans and procedures.
* Supporting hardware qualification activities.
* Specifying, designing, commissioning, and verifying equipment test solutions to support hardware verification, qualification activities, and production.
The ideal candidate for the Electronic Sustainment Engineer role would have:
* Experience of managing the full electronics lifecycle.
* Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or HND with significant relevant work experience.
* Proven experience of developing high integrity designs within a critical safety environment.
* Ability to present complex engineering concepts in an understandable manner.
* Ability to independently manage the control of your own work to meet agreed technical, quality, process, and schedule requirements is key.
* Willingness to engineer safety-critical products in an industry that is highly regulated and where engineering vigour is valued.
* Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web browsers.
Please note that for this role, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) will be required and must be maintained for the role.
