What you’ll be doing:
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of theproject planning and control tools and processes used at theRochester site through a combination of guided learning andhands-on experience
* Assist Programme Managers and Control AccountManagers (CAMs) in creating and maintaining project schedules usingMicrosoft Project and Deltek Cobratools
Monitor and progress project plans through regularupdates, ensuring key issues are promptly communicated to theProject Manager, CAMs, and local management asrequired Oversee the monthly Estimate to Complete processfor assigned programmes, providing variance analysis to support theProject Manager and CAMs in managing programme costseffectively Build expertise in Earned Value Management toolsand techniques, applying these methodologies appropriately to theprojects you work on
* Lead relevant schedule-related reviews within yourproject teams, ensuring that any planning issues are identified andaddressed, including helping to develop contingency plans tominimise any impact on the programmeschedule
Carry out requested analyses, including scheduleadherence, schedule performance measurements, and Schedule RiskAnalysis
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
GCSEs (grades A*-C or 9-4) or recognised equivalentqualifications in English andMaths Two A-Level (grades A*-C) or equivalentqualification Strong IT proficiency, particularly in MicrosoftOffice, with the ability to quickly adapt to new softwaretools Confident in negotiation and influence, with aproactive and resourceful approach totasks Excellent organisational skills combined with goodattention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritisedemands
Desirable
* Experience in project coordination, including rolessuch as Project Coordinator or Project Assistant, with a focus onsupporting project managementactivities

The Project Management Team:
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to learnhow to collaborate with project teams in creating, updating, andanalysing project schedules to ensure successful project outcomes.You will receive training in various project planning tools andtechniques, including Microsoft Project, Deltek Acumen Risk, andthe Cobra Earned Value Management system. The role is diverse andengaging, allowing you to gain experience across different projectsat the Rochester site. You will work with various teams, fromHardware Engineering and Software to the Qualification Group andManufacturing.
Once trained, you will provide valuable planningand project control support to Programme Managers and ControlAccount Managers (CAMs), ensuring the quality and accuracy of theproject schedules you manage. You will become the scheduling expertfor your programme teams, using the project plan to identify andaddress issues related to schedule, cost, and risk. This role alsooffers insight into the Project Management function, as you willwork closely with Project Managers and Engineering ProjectManagers. The position comes with a structured developmentplan, including progress milestones, and offers the potential toadvance to a Project Planner role for those with the rightenthusiasm andaptitude.
