How will you make an impact in this role?
The role will be based in the UK and report to the Director of Global Contract Governance and Effectiveness (GCGE). In this role you will be responsible for:
* Managing the global suite of GSM procurement contracting templates, liaising with global GSM teams and GCO to ensure they remain up to date with legal requirements and making them available on SS&BE's contract management system (Conga) and managing the global contract inventory.
* Leading GSM reviewer and subject matter expert for the Information Protection Contract Requirements (IPCR), part of the contract that addresses data protection, information security, privacy requirements and transfer of data across regions.
* Acting as a key contact for SS&BE with respect to compliance projects across the Enterprise that impact third parties and/or the procurement contracting process e.g. anti-trust concerns relating to certain types of non-solicitation clauses, implementation of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), European Banking Authority (EBA) Guidelines compliance, Intra-Agency Guidelines compliance etc.
* Liaising with Regulatory Change Management (RCM) team and acting as Project Manager with respect to RCM entries that impact the procurement contracting process.
* Leading projects to enhance internal GSM systems and drive better working practices, including continuing developing Conga contract redlining functionality and AI enhancements.
* Supporting Contract Managers with day-to-day contracting queries arising out of supplier negotiations, providing upfront guidance on contracting approach and structure.
* Planning, coordinating and leading the monthly “GSM Information Share” meetings across the regions. Sharing topical information and leading contract training initiatives, facilitating guest speakers from other teams (TLM, GCO etc).
* Working with ESG and Diversity leads to ensure GSM documents and processes remain at the forefront of best practice for these developing workstreams.
Minimum Qualifications
* A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (law, business management, supply chain management desirable).
* Extensive, broad-based sourcing, category management and/or contract management experience.
* Experience and proven track record required in complex contract negotiations. Ability to effectively redline, solid understanding of legal principles and priorities and the ability to offer solutions to supplier pushbacks.
* Proven ability to draft and develop project plans to include key milestones, critical paths, roadblocks, risks, next steps and a risk-based approach.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work across a wide range of teams and build effective working relationships.
* Desire to learn and continuously searching to understand industry best practices and find creative solutions.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid business environment.
* Understanding of Third Party Lifecycle Management would be advantageous.
