Company Overview:
An award-winning & successful engineering company based in Derby (Derbyshire, East Midlands) that produces top-class products and high-quality technology for industries such as Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Manufacturing, and many more is now seeking to hire a brand-new Electronics Development Engineer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity because the Electronics Development Engineer will have a route to grow into a Team Lead for career progression.
Salary and Working Conditions:
The salary on offer for the successful Electronics Development Engineer is £50,000 - £80,000 per annum. For the first 6 months of onboarding, the role will be full-time in the office 5 days a week, then will transition to hybrid working of 3 days onsite and 2 days WFH.
The Role:
The ideal Electronics Development Engineer will have a strong background in electronics for complex systems. The role will involve designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electronics architecture for the company’s high-quality products. This role will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, advanced solutions.
Key Skills Required:
1. 3-5+ years minimum industry experience
2. Electronics Circuit Design (analogue & digital)
3. PCB Design & Schematic Capture
4. Exposure or knowledge of Altium - not essential, but good to have
5. Embedded Software programming in C
6. Experience of VHDL for FPGA designs
7. Experience of FPGA development tools
8. Experience with electronics simulation tools
9. Enthusiastic, motivated, good problem-solving skills
10. Good team player with good communication skills
Benefits Package:
Normal holiday entitlement is 26 days plus bank holidays a year, including office closure days over the Christmas period. Pension in the current scheme equates to an 8% contribution (3% from the employer and 5% from the employee). Discretionary bonus scheme – 5% of salary.
Following the probationary period, we provide:
Income Protection – this will provide 75% of your salary (after a 13-week deferred period) should you ever have a long-term illness. Life Assurance – a lump sum of 4 x your salary. Normal hours of work will equate to 37.5 hours per week. The Company operates flexitime with core hours between 9.00 am and 3.45 pm (3.00 pm on Fridays).
