Essential Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role (senior level).
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
* Proven experience in leading, motivating, and supporting a team.
* Strong understanding of the challenges young people face, particularly those who have experienced childhood trauma.
* Ability to provide a safe, nurturing environment and ensure the home meets Ofsted standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with young people and external professionals.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our specialist therapeutic children’s home, where you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care to young people who have experienced early years trauma. In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the delivery of care, education, and therapeutic input tailored to each child’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Management: Lead the day-to-day operations of the home, providing guidance and support to the staff team.
* Care Provision: Oversee the implementation of individual placement plans, ensuring young people receive the appropriate care, education, and therapeutic support.
* Supervision: Ensure effective supervision and support for staff, promoting continuous professional development.
* Compliance: Ensure that the home meets all Ofsted requirements, maintaining high standards of care and safeguarding.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a holistic approach to care, education, and therapy.
* Administrative Duties: Oversee administrative tasks, including maintaining records, care plans, and reports in line with business and legislative requirements.
* Crisis Management: Support the team in handling challenging situations, demonstrating resilience and calm under pressure.
