What will I be doing?
You will carry out duties individually or as part of a team at a busy material transfer station, managing waste & recyclables.
The role will involve:
* Operating mobile and fixed plant, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
* Managing traffic, such as guiding tipping vehicles.
* Operating the weighbridge and accurately recording vehicle weights and details.
* Ensuring compliance with legal duties regarding health, safety, and welfare.
* Co-operating with SUEZ, other employees, and adhering to site permits, legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and the public.
* Performing other duties as reasonably requested, including first aid and fire safety responsibilities.
What are the requirements?
We seek an enthusiastic team player with a working knowledge of site license/permit systems, capable of ensuring site operations meet standards. Flexibility is essential, including covering for annual leave and occasional weekend work. The role also requires:
* Operational experience and current licenses for loading shovels, 360 telehandlers, and forklifts.
* Opportunities for personal development in waste acceptance, site equipment maintenance, and machinery operation.
* Experience in waste/recycling or similar environments is highly advantageous.
* An excellent understanding of health & safety practices.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Good IT skills.
