Job Title: Family Therapist – Mental Health Hospital
Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full-Time)

Compass Associates is currently recruiting for a highly skilled Family Therapist to join a well-respected mental health service in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an inpatient Eating Disorder Unit and an outpatient therapy service. The role offers a chance to provide systemic family therapy, deliver psycho-educational interventions, and make a real impact on patients and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
As a Family Therapist, you will provide specialist assessment, intervention, and consultation to both patients and their families, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team. You will support the delivery of care through systemic therapy and offer expert advice and guidance to clinical colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist systemic assessments and interventions for individuals, families, and groups, particularly in the Eating Disorder ward and outpatient services.
* Offer family therapy, psycho-educational interventions, and manage risk as part of care planning.
* Contribute to treatment plans and provide systemic consultations across the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
* Participate in ward rounds, MDT assessments, care planning, and offer consultation and training to clinical staff.
* Receive regular clinical supervision, engage in reflective practice, and support professional development through teaching and training activities.
Experience & Qualifications:
* MSc in Family Therapy or equivalent and UKCP registration as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist
* Extensive experience in 1:1 and family/group therapy within inpatient and outpatient mental health services.
* Strong clinical background with the ability to work autonomously within professional guidelines.
* Experience with systemic family therapy and working within multidisciplinary teams.
* Eating Disorders experience is highly desirable but not essential.
