Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Support Worker
Working hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

About the role…
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team in Newton Abbot as a Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you'll play a crucial role in guiding individuals toward recovery, offering tailored support, and coordinating services for their well-being. If you're passionate about making a difference in people's lives, join us in this impactful position.
Day to day duties include:
1. Manage a low-risk caseload, devising, implementing, and reviewing ongoing recovery and treatment plans.
2. Facilitate educational and peer support groups.
3. Reduce substance-related harm to individuals and the wider community.
4. Support on duty and taking new referrals.
5. Working collaboratively with key partners and colleagues to achieve the best health and well-being outcomes for individuals.
About you...
We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with experience in substance misuse, mental health support, criminal justice, or relevant academic fields. Specifically, we are seeking individuals with one or more of the following professional experiences:
1. Substance misuse background
2. Mental health background
3. Criminal justice background
4. A relevant academic background such as Criminology, Psychology, Law or Sociology
5. A strong portfolio of volunteering in a similar role
6. Case management experience and the ability to manage expectations in this emotionally demanding role are highly valued for their contributions to our mission of consistent, high-quality care
