The Role
* Work closely with your assigned mentor to review the day’s workload and plan your actions accordingly.
* Assist with the installation of wiring systems and electrical fixtures
* Assist with testing and diagnostics, as well as routine maintenance tasks, on electrical and mechanical equipment/machines
* Following the electrical code of practice and standards to maintain safety and compliance
* Collaborating with other electricians and mechanics to coordinate installations and repairs
* Learn to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
* Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order
* Participate in training sessions, workshops and Toolbox Talks (briefings) to enhance skills and understanding of the workplace and tasks
* Ordering parts as required
* Observe and learn from senior electricians/ mechanics to build knowledge and skills
* Complete daily/weekly logbook on information gained and tasks completed
* Attend College regularly as required to complete formal academic training and professional qualifications. (Unless full qualifications have already been attained)
Your Profile
* Strong interpersonal skills, including effective written and verbal communication are essential for working with mentors, team members, and customers, communicating clearly using appropriate methods
* Good level of Attendance, self-discipline and time management. Meeting deadlines, managing multiple tasks effectively
* Enthusiastic and passionate about a career in engineering
* The ability to work independently when required, but blend well with the team also
* IT literate, with a good knowledge of MS Office
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or higher including Maths, English and Science, or equivalent and/or relevant experience, however applicants without this will still be considered
* NVQ level 1 in Engineering Maintenance would be an advantage
