Senior Children & Young Person's Practitioner £24,742.75 per annum Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent Hours per week37.5 (Term time plus 3 weeks) Contract typePermanent The role Youll deliver education and prevention programmes to children and young people, alongside professionals training, to local schools and colleges, with the aim of educating children and young people to spot unhealthy relationships and identify ways to stay safe from abuse. Alongside delivering, youll strengthen our clients programme and training services, and support their safer accommodation offer for children and young people, helping them to continue to provide amazing support for their community. Job requirements Support the development of their education and prevention programmes for children and young people (CYP) and specialist training for teachers and community groups. Facilitate and manage the delivery of the Relationships Without Fear and X-Roads programmes to children and young people in education, alongside delivering an age appropriate 1-2-1/drop-in service. Demonstrate effective relationship building with children and young people, maintaining engagement and confidence in their services. Monitor and collate data around delivery and outcomes to assist with stakeholder and commissioner feedback, contract monitoring and service development. Maintain and commit to continuous learning and development, keeping up to date with the ever-changing pressures that children and young people, face particularly around online safety and social media. Manage and maintain strong and efficient multi-agency relationships to meet the identified needs of children and young people (CYP). This might include providing reports for, or attending, meetings such as MARAC and CYP conferences. Advocate for CYP so that agencies understand and meet their needs, supporting CYP to engage with internal and external agencies to access services and help develop skills so they can achieve their goals. What theyre looking for An NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People, or equivalent. Minimum of one years experience working with children and young people providing either 1:1 support or group work/activities. Experience of delivering support to children and young people, recognising individual needs such as developmental stage, any additional learning needs, etc. An understanding of the complexities surrounding domestic abuse and safeguarding and the effects that domestic abuse has on children and young people. The ability to keep clear, concise, and factual recordings of sessions/meetings, the ability to liaise with other professionals and the ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative. Clear, effective, verbal and written communication skills, great time management skills and the ability to prioritise high risk cases. Ability to work flexibly when evenings and weekends are required.
