Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Assembly Operative (Fiberglass) to join our Client. The successful candidate will be working in the Sheet Metal Fibreglass Department, responsible for assembling, finishing, and inspecting fiberglass components (metals, composites and plastics) to ensure they meet high-quality standards. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience / manual in fiberglass assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and prepare fiberglass components according to technical drawings and work instructions.
Conduct heat treatment, (annealing and age hardening) of components to strictly defined specifications.
Conduct injection moulding, mould tool set up, barrel configuration, material selection and preparation, programming and machine minding.
Drogue line assembly, packing, bonding and room temperature vulcanising, sealing of box bridle line assemblies.
Fabricate and assemble seat pan chasis and parachute container assemblies using build jigs, manual riveting techniques and pneumatic rivet presses.
Produce seat backrest and sitting platform assemblies in aluminium glass fibre and carbon fibre.
Fit hardware and furniture using a range of aerospace fastenders, adhesives and Velcro.
Trim with temperature sensitive edging.
Use hand and power tools to trim, cut, and shape fiberglass materials.
Conduct quality checks to ensure all products meet specifications and standards.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient workflow.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Perform minor repairs and finishing tasks to improve product quality.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Requirements:
Previous experience in the sector of AEROSPACE essential.
Previous experience in fiberglass assembly, manufacturing, or a related industry is preferred.
Previous experience in riveting processes, operating vertical milling machines, gluing / bonding, presses and injection moulding.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
Skilled in using hand and power tools (engineering tools).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Good physical fitness, as the role may involve standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
