Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced operations engineer to join a fast-growing team and ensure the smooth operation of the client’s flexible power generation plants. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency, reliability, and safety of power generation equipment while ensuring minimal downtime and maximum plant availability. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate and maintain the company’s flexible power generation plants and associated equipment, prioritizing health and safety at all times. Work closely with the operations team to ensure plant availability and optimize efficiency, addressing any issues promptly to reduce downtime. Provide daily updates on plant performance and maintenance status, keeping plant records and spare parts inventories current using the company’s IT systems. Troubleshoot equipment problems, taking corrective actions or escalating to management when necessary. Communicate regularly with the central operations team to report changes in plant availability, ongoing maintenance, or test runs. Supervise and coordinate external contractors and suppliers working on-site. Assist with the transition of new facilities into operational service, providing support during commissioning and performance testing phases. Share responsibility for emergency call-out coverage, attending sites to address unplanned breakdowns as required. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, environmental practices, and operational standards. Requirements: Proven hands-on experience with reciprocating gas generators, including troubleshooting and maintenance expertise. Experience in asset optimization and enhancing plant performance. Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a team environment. Full, valid driving license and willingness to travel when necessary. Familiarity with peaking engine projects and asset management software is a plus. Experience managing or supervising third-party contractors is preferred.
