Introduction We are looking for a skilled Design Office Manager to enhance the productivity of our design team, comprised of over 30 experienced professionals. This position offers a valuable chance for someone with experience to play an important role in a respected engineering environment focused on offshore renewable energy. This role may be based in our office in Aberdeen,UK or Zoetermeer, The Netherlands on a full time staff basis. What will you be doing? Key Responsibilities Include Guiding and supporting the Design Office Team while facilitating skill development and training opportunities. Managing the design office support for tenders, studies and project as well as process workflows to ensure timely and accurate outputs corresponding to our engineering and safety in design standards Providing technical support to the Design Office team as well as internal colleagues and potentially clients, with the ability to quickly establish effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Guiding the technical direction of the design office, in partnership with Design Supervisors, staying informed about industry benchmarks, stakeholder expectations, innovations, and improved design methodologies Overseeing the creation of technical drawings for new and modified vessels and equipment as well as all components of offshore wind farm infrastructure, aligned with internal and external requirements and global industry standards. Collaborating with diverse teams to provide technical insights and assistance Providing input to the engineering resource planning on a monthly basis to ensure the required designers are available Ensuring team cohesion and consistency across multiple design office country locations What experience would we like you to have? We are interested in candidates who possess the following qualifications: Proficiency in 2D and 3D software, particularly AutoCAD and Inventor, and the ability to check drawings for quality control A comprehensive understanding of VR/XR visualization and its integration in engineering practices. A solid grasp of mechanical engineering principles, design checks and calculations, to be able to provide engineering and design leadership Solid familiarity with team leadership and enhancing collaborative practices to enrich everyone's contributions. Proficient project management capabilities to coordinate and prioritize several tasks simultaneously. A relevant engineering / design qualification and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical drawing office (2 years in leadership) are essential. Familiarity with ERP systems, document control, resource planning and offshore vessels and installation principles
