As Merri Health and Banyule Community Health continue to merge, we have a new role that we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for, Director - Carers. This pivotal role will shape the future of our Carers Division.
Your remit will focus on driving strategic initiatives and will seek out opportunities for expanding our service offerings, as the lead organisation for the Carer Gateway consortia. You will lead development of the strategy for the division, ensure effective delivery of services, and review existing services identifying opportunities for enhancing service offerings. Partnering with the Client Services Leadership Team, you will be a driver of organisational growth.
Your New Role:
As the Director - Carers, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the National Carer Strategy Action Plan. You will lead and manage the Carers Division, including the Carer Gateway Consortia, Support for Carers Program and other carer services. Your leadership will guide the division in identifying growth opportunities, improving service delivery, and enhancing the overall impact of our carers' support.
You Will Be Responsible For:
* Strategic Vision and Direction: Crafting and driving the strategic direction of the Carers Division.
* Business Development: Taking the lead on identifying new opportunities, including expanding current services, forging strategic partnerships, and pursuing funding to sustain and grow Carer Service streams.
* Operational Management: Overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of annual plans, budgets, and key performance indicators for the Consortia. You will ensure compliance with legislative frameworks, funding agreements, and service level contracts.
* Service Delivery: Managing the effective delivery of services that meet the evolving needs of clients and the community.
* Financial Accountability: Maintaining stringent financial oversight, ensuring budget targets and key performance indicators are met within the Division and Consortia.
* People Leadership: Building a high-performing team by promoting continuous improvement, managing talent development, and embedding a culture of performance excellence.
* Sector Networking: Strengthening the organisation’s reputation by developing relationships with key stakeholders, staying abreast of sector developments, and positioning us as a leader in the carers’ services sector.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
* Extensive leadership experience in health, disability, or community services.
* Proven ability to drive service improvement, innovation, and business growth.
* Strong financial acumen and experience managing complex budgets.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of building effective partnerships.
* Knowledge of Carer Services, including the National Carer Strategy and Action Plan, Integrated Carer Support Service (ICSS) model and key function of the RPD’s (Regional Delivery Partners).
* Demonstrated experience in dynamic, challenging environments preferably in Community Services, Government, and/or Health and/or Social Services sectors.
