Our people are at the heart of National Museums Liverpool. Colleagues from across the NML team make a difference every day, creating memorable experiences for everyone and challenging expectations. We pride ourselves on being a place for everyone, but we are always aiming higher, aspiring to be representative of the communities we serve. Through our people, we are building a culture which embeds trust, respect and inclusion and an organisation in which people are engaged and empowered to enable National Museums Liverpool to evolve. You could be just the right person to join us.
We currently have the post(s) of Decant Assistant (x4) available.
National Museums Liverpool is looking to recruit Decant Assistants to play a vital role in supporting the decant of collections from the Maritime Museum and International Slavery Museum. This is a hugely important step in transforming these gallery spaces, a part of a wider waterfront development plan between now and 2028.
This exciting redevelopment will involve the decant of collections currently on display, re-development of the existing museum and adjacent building, gallery redesign and the display of newly selected objects from our expansive collections and elsewhere, as NML works closely with local communities to co-curate these newly proposed spaces.
To support in the delivery of this project, the Decant Assistants will work together to assist in the logistics of packing, protecting and documenting objects prior to decant from their current location to external storage, and within an assigned deadline. This will be a fantastic opportunity to be part of a large-scale collection move, contributing to NML’s vision and transformation of its Waterfront spaces and overall public offer.
