The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the dismantling, inspection, reporting, assembly and testing of a range of valves inc safety relief valves, vacuum valves, pilot operated valves, control valves. They will also be required at times for site removal & installation.
Key Responsibilities
* Dismantle equipment to component level.
* Identification of components.
* Fault-finding on equipment.
* Rectification work on equipment (Manual Lapping/stroke testing etc)
* Assemble equipment using engineering drawings or experience/knowledge.
* Interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics, and repair equipment, utilising specialist knowledge and standard test instruments and tools.
* Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems encountered.
* Testing of all valves for hydro/pneumatic/seat test etc. to shell standards or to the customers requirements.
* Carry out all work practices in line with Company Health and Safety Policy.
* Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
* Meet high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping.
* Support site activities.
* Present a professional Image, support and promote brand values at all times.
* Liaise with workshop personnel at all levels.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
• Time served Craft Apprenticeship or Equivalent
• Relevant qualification to NVQ Level 3/4
• People Skills, teamwork and collaboration
• Problem solving skills
• Excellent customer service
• Commercially aware
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Experience in the overhaul of valves and their associated tests.
Desirable:
• Fork lift truck license
• LOLER trained or similar (overhead crane)
• Site Safety Passport
• Experience with paint spraying
