Building Services Manager - Tier 1 Main Contractor
Location: Bristol, South West
We are working with a Tier 1 contractor based near Bristol to recruit a new Building Services Manager for the business.
The company is a national brand with an excellent reputation in their chosen marketplace and has excellent long-term relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider supply chain. They have a forward-thinking approach to staff engagement and offer opportunities to grow and develop your career with them.
The regional office is based near Bristol, covering Bristol, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Cardiff. They target work in the education, public sector, leisure, MOD, and commercial marketplaces, with a mix of negotiated and framework opportunities. Turnover for 2024 and 2025 has been secured, and 2026 is almost there, allowing them to be highly selective about the type of work they pursue.
Current live projects include new build SEN schools, primary schools, leisure centre refurbishments, local authority schemes, and MOD new builds and refurbishments.
The role involves taking full responsibility for the services packages across a range of projects. You will collaborate with the bid and estimating teams at the preconstruction stage to assess feasibility, programme times, and buildability of the schemes. You will work with design and commercial teams and subcontractors to establish best practices, pricing, and procedures for the schemes. Your input is essential to the successful delivery of the wider project.
Upon contract award, you will work with the wider site delivery team to oversee the services packages on-site and help manage subcontractors through the installation process, addressing all related technical queries through to commissioning and handover. This is a real opportunity to work cradle to grave on schemes and see your ideas and plans come to life on-site.
The role would ideally suit someone from either a main contractor or specialist subcontractor background with experience in both mechanical and electrical services. However, candidates must come from an electrical background and be the business unit's electrical lead, capable of assessing and signing off relevant works and subcontractors. Experience in preconstruction as well as delivery is essential. A degree is preferred, but they are also keen to consider individuals who have worked their way up from the tools.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business that values your opinion and expertise, offering you the chance to develop your career in whatever direction you choose. Please apply today.
