Maintenance Services Manager – Estates and Facilities
Salary £45,819 - £57,954 plus exceptional pension and annual leave
The University of Huddersfield is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Services Manager to join its Directorate of Estates and Facilities.
The Estates and Facilities Services are instrumental in ensuring facilities offered by the University of Huddersfield to students, staff, and visitors are first class. The Maintenance Services Manager will lead and develop a professional, customer-focused, planned and reactive maintenance service, including mechanical and electrical engineering and building-related functions. The role involves developing and leading the implementation of the maintenance strategy, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and guidance, whilst supporting the delivery of minor and major capital developments and significantly contributing to the University of Huddersfield’s technical standards. As part of the university’s change programme, there is a continued focus on driving the introduction and implementation of modern ways of working, new processes, systems, whilst balancing the mix of ‘in house delivery Vs external contract management’.
The Maintenance Services Manager will deliver the strategic and operational management of a range of functions and services, including estate management, planned and reactive maintenance, compliance, carbon and energy reduction, health and safety, fire, customer service, CAFM, asset management, and risk management.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate with significant experience in leading a large and diverse maintenance team, providing expert maintenance advice, driving change programmes to improve culture, processes, systems and procedures. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the building industry, proven management experience within maintenance services, and excellent communication, influencing, and engagement skills.
