This school is seeking a creative and inspiring Art and Photography Teacher to join their dynamic and supportive department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to nurture artistic expression and technical skills in students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. This role begins September 2025.
Duties as an Art and Photography Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging and innovative Art and Photography lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with the possibility of Key Stage 5)
* Foster a love for creativity and visual expression, encouraging students to develop their artistic and photographic skills
* Teach a broad range of techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital media, and photography
* Support students in preparing portfolios and coursework for GCSE and A-Level assessments
* Ensure students gain confidence in both traditional and digital photography, including editing techniques and composition
* Maintain an inspirational and well-resourced learning environment, including managing art supplies and photography equipment
* Assess, track, and provide feedback on students' progress, supporting their development and achievement
* Contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school, such as art exhibitions, photography clubs, and trips
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the Art and Photography curriculum
* Ensure high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement
Ideal Art and Photography Teacher:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching Art and Photography at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable)
* Be passionate about art, photography, and creative expression
* Have a strong understanding of traditional and digital art techniques, photography, and editing software
* Be able to inspire and challenge students of all abilities
* Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills as an Art and Photography Teacher
* Be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Have experience supporting students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level coursework and assessments
