Additional Pay of £44.56 per sleep in

Vacancy:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Residential Youth Support Worker to be based at our BRAND NEW children's home based in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for the supervision of a shift and the support workers providing advice, care and stability for the young people ensuring they are treated equally, whilst promoting positive role-modelling behaviour.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the protection and safeguard the wellbeing of the young people in our care.
2. Supervise support workers and cascade information so that our young people are cared for, guided and supported appropriately in line with relevant legislative, contractual and inspection framework requirements.
3. Demonstrate to the young people the value of education, care and development so that they improve behaviour, by being a positive role model.
4. Build and create mutual trust and respect with young people in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and instructions.
5. Define structures and boundaries of behaviour to young people, acting as a positive role model, so they understand behaviour expected.
6. Produce, maintain and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available.
7. Support and analyse the young people’s behaviour to avoid incidents and maximise positive behaviours.
8. Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people in order that they gain skills and education on an informed basis
9. Coach, support and develop Support Workers ensuring their performance and potential is maximised to meet contractual and company requirements.
10. Provide basic advice and skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills.
11. Support with day to day tasks within the home, such as meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, daily routines.
12. Taking our young people to school or to medical appointments, activities etc.
What you’ll bring:
13. Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives.
14. A QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare, or an equivalent qualification
15. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays to meet operational needs of the home
16. Be able to cover sleep ins – on average one a week.
17. Positive role model – honesty and empathy are a must.
18. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
19. Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and a calm demeanour.
