Reporting to the Head of Bid Management, you will be responsible for working alongside the Bid/Estimating Team to develop winning proposals in line with our corporate strategy to the highest standards. You will collaborate with other teams within the business and with our key supply chain members to produce consistently high-quality submissions.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual, with excellent writing skills who demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team.
Role Description
* Writing bespoke content, including responses to tender questions, executive summaries, case studies, and CVs, working closely with the wider bid team (internal and external) to submit compliant responses on time.
* Contribute to the development of win themes that demonstrate our understanding of the client’s needs.
* Editing responses written by Subject Matter Experts.
* Manage the clarification and RFI process during the tender period and post submission.
* Monitor tender outcomes to provide feedback to the team on success rates and trends.
* Ensure that all company details are up to date on Buyer portals and respond to requests for information on time.
* Monitor tender portals for new opportunities, circulating to the team for review.
* Maintain Bid Library, ensuring all information is up to date.
* Promote and ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with SHE Policies and Procedures.
* Work with the wider McAvoy Team to effectively represent and grow the business and contribute to the culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Carry out other duties that are consistent with the job holder’s knowledge and skills to assist the company in achieving its goals and objectives.
This role description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for Senior Bid Writer. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.
Person Specification
* Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
* Third level educated in a business or construction-related discipline.
* Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively with internal Subject Matter Experts.
* Proficiency in MS Office and 365.
* Flexibility in managing workload.
* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
* External Focus: Takes time to question and understand the real, underlying accommodation needs of the client and other project stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen.
