As our Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Aspire's financial health and future success. Beyond managing day-to-day financial operations, you'll be a key business partner, providing strategic insights that drive growth and ensure long-term sustainability which acts as a catalyst for physical activity engagement. Your financial leadership will guide decision-making across the organisation, helping us remain agile and informed in an evolving market.
As part of the senior management team, you will collaborate closely with directors and department leads, offering practical solutions that align financial strategy with our mission. Your contributions will influence the broader direction of the business, ensuring effective resource allocation, risk management, and compliance while supporting Aspire’s ambitious growth plans.
Your role will include:
Strategic financial leadership: Provide data-driven insights and guidance to support business decisions and long-term growth.
Bookkeeping and accounting: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Payroll management: Manage and optimise payroll processes, ensuring compliance and timely execution.
Tax compliance: Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.
Financial reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, highlighting key trends and actionable insights.
Budgeting and forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, identifying risks and opportunities for growth.
Funding and financing: Explore funding options and financial strategies to support business expansion and sustainability.
Cost control and expense management: Identify opportunities to optimise costs without compromising service quality.
Credit control: Manage and monitor credit control processes to maintain healthy cash flow.
Compliance and legal obligations: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Asset management: Oversee the management of company assets to maximise return and efficiency.
Pension scheme administration: Manage the company’s pension schemes and ensure employee benefit compliance.

Knowledge and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a track record in strategic oversight and operational management.
In-depth knowledge of UK tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax.
Proven experience in payroll management, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Proficient in using financial software tools and expert-level Excel skills.
Qualifications:
ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification is essential.

Salary from £45,000 - £50,000 (£27,000 - £30,000 Pro rata)
