THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Brand Manager to join our dynamic brand team due to the current incumbent advancing to a global role. This role will see you building ground-breaking campaigns and bringing bold ideas to life. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will get to drive your vision for an exciting portfolio of well-loved UK hair brands as well as to coach and develop your team. The Senior Brand Manager plays a critical role in making things happen, in inspiring, persuading, and gaining dedication for our projects across different functions and different work levels. From day one, you will be assigned full responsibility for developing and executing strategies and plans in partnership with global and local multi-discipline teams as well as external agencies. We expect you to make important portfolio choices; manage launches for product and commercial innovations; develop integrated communication plans; and track their executions across all media and consumer touch points. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate challenger brand mentality, relentlessly drive understanding of the UK consumer and shopper, and make your love for our brands infectious. Your work and commitment will ensure that our business achieves sales, profit, and market share objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Strategy and Management
1. Lead the development of our brand portfolio strategy, identifying key business priorities and NPD launches, ensuring this strategy is in line with profitability targets and our growth agenda.
2. Own the development of the annual brand plan, maximising market opportunities for brand growth driven by a clear understanding of consumer insight and the competitive landscape.
3. Ownership for the annual advertising and promo budget defining clear priorities. Control Marketing expenditure and ensure evaluation of all spend on a continuous basis.
4. Effectively influence global brand teams ensuring the UK is central to their broader strategy.
5. Establish brand and business performance metrics, remaining close to these throughout the year with a strong commercial awareness of brand performance escalating within the business as needed. Regularly review plan and performance throughout year, taking appropriate remedial action as vital.
6. Drive the consumer agenda, working with CMI partners to bring consumer closeness and insight led plan development and activities.
7. Manage local brand P&L, being the 'point person' for all key stakeholders.
Media & POS
1. Working closely with an external media agency to lead media strategy planning to achieve the set KPIs in a cost-efficient way.
2. In partnership with Sales/Trade teams and external agency lead the POS design & production to get in store brand stand-out and secure ROI.
3. Stay up to date with the media trends and latest innovative solutions to engage with the consumer to drive 'from 1 to 0 click' consumer journey.
Retailer Amplification
1. Work with the sales and trade marketing teams, shopper and insight teams to delight and excite our customers, building strategic partnerships and ensuring product listings.
2. Partner with key customers in deploying their own digital platforms to drive product trial and conversion.
Digital & Influencer Marketing
1. Collaborate with Influencer /Social Marketing, deliver updates and attend PR events, ensuring the Influencer Marketing strategy aligns with brand strategy and amplifies key big bets.
2. Collaborate with ecom team/agency to inform the brands ecosystem and always-on plans, as well as development of NPD/Initiatives specific activations.
Team Management
1. Managing, coaching and succession planning of a talented Brand Exec.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with energy, enthusiasm, and great stakeholder management skills. We are looking for someone with a passion for brand building and beauty, particularly the hair categories. You like to hit the ground running, owning your projects, and driving them through to ensure the UK market is on the map for best in class. You will excel in creating engaging communication and gaining buy-in from cross functional teams through creative storytelling and brand building.
1. Degree in Marketing or Business.
2. Previous strong experience in Brand Marketing, ideally within a Health and Beauty retail environment, for a minimum of 4-5 years.
3. Working knowledge of digital marketing.
4. Previous experience of working with UK retailers, in particular the Grocery and High Street channels.
5. Able to influence effectively at all levels of the business.
6. An able and persuasive presenter.
7. Prioritises and organises work to meet deadlines without direct supervision.
8. Able to take ownership of projects, work independently and use initiative to find solutions.
9. An aptitude for and experience of analysing and interpreting data.
10. Direct or indirect people management experience.
11. Excellent PC skills, with strong Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint know-how.
