Aufgaben Reporting to the Hartlepool manufacturing facility Senior Project Manager, the main purpose of the role is to – Provide expert advice to the management team such that all manufacturing and development activities at the Hartlepool facility are undertaken in line with relevant environmental regulations and standards.Ensure that the STRABAG ISO 14001 compliant Environmental and Sustainability Management System (ESMS) is fully implemented at the facility and that measures for continual improvement of environmental performance are included in the management cycle. Facilitate sustainability improvements in collaboration with the wider STRABAG Environment and Sustainability function and client teams. Advise and support the facility management team and supervisors in discharging their responsibilities towards the environment and respond to queries or correspondence on environmental and sustainability issues. Ensure that the whole team are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and understand the requirements of the STRABAG ESMS, through formal briefings and site presence. Undertake regular environmental assurance activity to monitor compliance with environmental legislation and STRABAG environmental procedures and confirm that all environmental controls are in place and working. This will include environmental monitoring, sampling, and data analysis to inform the operation of the facility’s water treatment plant and other environmental controls. Support operational teams in the correct management of waste, coordinating efficient waste segregation, identifying preferred waste management options in line with the waste hierarchy and undertaking Duty of Care compliance audits. Coordinate site activities to support the implementation of STRABAG’s ISO 50001 compliant Energy Management System and development of our PAS 2080 compliant Carbon Management System and ISO 46001 compliant Water Efficiency Management System. Undertake due-diligence reviews of project information, identifying necessary permitting and consenting requirements and developing plans to deliver them. Provide advice and guidance and if necessary, assist with the obtaining legal consents, licenses, and exemptions such as planning consents, discharge consents, abstraction licenses and waste management licenses as and when required and as directed. Managing the contribution of external consultants where required. Undertaking supplier audits in accordance with STRABAG’s management systems and sustainable procurement policies. Research environmental and sustainability issues and best practices proactively and as directed by senior members of the team. Investigate environmental incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses and support other teams in the investigation of other incidents as requested. Qualifikationen BSc / MSc in an environmental subject Practitioner Member of IEMA (or similar grade at another suitable professional institution). Full Driving Licence. Willingness to travel to other STRABAG sites.Relevant CSCS card Experience in Environmental Management within the construction industry or industrial manufacturing sector Experience in Environmental Management within the construction industry or industrial manufacturing sector Good understanding of environmental legislation relevant to construction and/or manufacturing and the ISO 14001 standard. Good understanding of the requirements of the ISO 50001 and 46001 standards and/or PAS 2080.
