What It Takes?

Here's what they'd love you to bring to the role:
* Experience That Counts: At least one year of experience in residential childcare, therapeutic work, or child protection, with the ability to work well both in a team and independently.
* Knowledge That Matters: A strong understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015, the Children's Act 1989 & 2004, and children's rights is essential.
* Qualifications That Make a Difference: A QCF Level 3/4 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) is required to ensure you are equipped to provide exceptional care.
* Skills to Connect: They're looking for someone who can engage positively with young people, stay calm under pressure, and demonstrate empathy, honesty, and excellent listening skills.
* Practical Abilities: Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and report writing), time management, and the ability to assess and manage risks are key to this role.
* Flexibility and Commitment: You'll need to be open to working flexible hours, including sleep-ins, Bank Holidays, and stepping in to cover for other homes when needed.
* A Few Extras That Help: Familiarity with Quality Standards, IT literacy, a valid driving license, and experience in shift leadership or residential care are all big pluses!
