Product Compliance Manager for a global equestrian company overseeing compliance and safety of product areas including toys, children's wear, equine, and rider categories to meet regulatory standards and comply with UK and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance
* Monitor and interpret regulations and standards for product areas with particular attention to toys and children's wear.
* Ensure products comply with applicable safety standards including ASTM, EN71, CPSIA, and REACH.
* Keep abreast of changes in compliance regulations and update internal policies and stakeholders accordingly.
2. Product Testing & Certification
* Coordinate product testing with third-party laboratories.
* Work with the Technologist and supplier to understand LeMieux testing requirements and action accordingly.
* Review test reports and certifications to ensure compliance with specific attention to labelling review and legal requirements.
* Maintain a database of compliance documents for all products.
3. Supplier Management
* Evaluate and approve suppliers based on their ability to meet compliance standards.
* Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Work with suppliers to resolve compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
4. Internal Training and Communication
* Work closely with various functions to inform and deliver training programs for staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
* Act as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.
* Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.
5. Documentation and Record Keeping
* Maintain detailed records of compliance documentation including test reports, conformity certificates, and inspection records.
* Enable a straightforward export process by liaising with the logistics team to ensure they have all the relevant documentation in a timely manner.
* Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
* Provide departments with legal briefs to ensure accurate labelling across product and packaging based on regulation requirements.
Skills and Experience required:
* Proven background in Product Compliance with a thorough understanding of toy and children's wear regulations.
* Previous experience with international compliance standards and regulations.
* Strong knowledge of product safety standards and regulatory requirements and local/international compliance laws.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across several brand functions.
* Self-starting with ability to use own initiative as well as working collaboratively across multiple business functions.
