We're hiring a Head of Colleague Experience to join our People Team, based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
The Role
The Head of Colleague Experience is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving excellence in specialised HR functions. This role oversees the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of best-in-class HR practices across various HR disciplines. The individual will collaborate closely with People Partners, external partners, and company leaders to ensure People strategies align with business objectives, support talent development, and enhance colleague experience
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a team of HR specialists, fostering a highperforming culture focused on innovation and operational excellence.
* Partner with the CHRO and senior leadership to define and execute the HR strategy, aligning CoEs with business priorities.
* Drive strategic initiatives that address company needs, including talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, compensation and reward, reporting and colleague engagement
* Oversee the development of policies, programs, and processes that enhance colleague experience and support company growth.
* Ensure CoEs deliver high-quality, evidence-based HR solutions that drive business outcomes.
* Lead the design and execution of strategic HR initiatives such as succession planning, leadership development, and diversity and inclusion programs, including integrating new businesses into our IPN people processes and frameworks.
* Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and People Partners, providing insights and recommendations on HR trends, workforce planning, and company effectiveness.
* Work closely with People Partners and external partners to ensure cohesive and integrated HR service delivery.
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement, seeking feedback and using it to enhance HR processes and programs.
* Leverage technology and digital solutions to streamline HR operations and improve efficiency.
* Utilise HR analytics to measure the effectiveness of CoE initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
* Monitor market trends and industry benchmarks to keep the company competitive in attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
* Ensure all HR practices within the CoEs are compliant with local regulations.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with HR policies and practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, CIPD) preferred.
* Extensive experience in HR, with a experience in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple HR functions.
* Proven experience leading HR Centres of Expertise or similar specialised functions within a complex, matrixed organisation.
* Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies with business goals.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
* Demonstrated success in driving HR transformation and implementing best-in-class HR practices.
* Proficiency in HR analytics and technology platforms.
