Yard Operatives
To offer support services to the day-to-day operation of the company in line with company policy, procedures and team objectives.
Operational Duties of the Yard Operatives (to include, but not limited to):
1. Maintain and keep a clean, safe yard with all risks minimised and report any areas of concern to the operations management team.
2. Work with & assist operations personnel to check and maintain stock levels.
3. Be part of the service, inspection and maintenance of all equipment.
4. Carry out any activity that fits within the role as instructed by line management.
5. Prepare equipment for jobs as requested by the operations management team.
6. Pick equipment according to the load lists.
7. Open and close curtain sided vehicles.
8. Use ratchet straps to secure loads to trailers and kit to stillages.
9. Responsible for strapping trailers to VOSA requirements.
10. Ensure yard procedure of truck labelling is adhered to.
11. Complete full procedure for near misses.
12. Complete full procedure for accident reporting.
13. Complete full procedure for damages / load lists.
14. Advise Management Team of items not returned from site.
15. Advise Management Team of stock shortages and consumables required.
Health & Safety
1. Develop and maintain an awareness of Health & Safety documents relating to your role.
2. Cascade Health & Safety awareness ensuring staff have read and understood documentation relating to their position within the company.
3. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
4. Undertake duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the organisation's Health & Safety policy and procedures.
5. Co-operate with policies and procedures to enable the organisation to comply with its obligation under Health & Safety legislation.
6. Report immediately to your line manager any defects in equipment or the working environment and report areas of risk.

Training and Development

Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 plus lots of overtime (up to £40,000 OTE), 25 days holiday plus 3 days at Christmas plus bank holidays.
