Senior Quantity Surveyor
Circa £75-85k plus package
Location: Newcastle
Our client is a well-established Manchester based construction business specializing in high-tech cleanrooms and data centres, focusing on quality fit outs and specialized refurbishments. They are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the North East, working on a £50m data centre project with a further £100m being bid for.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be based on the project in the North East and will be expected to attend the Manchester head office on occasion.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work with the project teams and assist in managing the commercial performance of the projects, with direct management of two QS and a part-time QS.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide expert advice on all commercial aspects of the projects, including the management of costs and contractual matters.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out the commercial activities to meet the project objectives by providing advice, guidance, and support to the project team.
* Ensure compliance and governance in respect to various forms of contract including JCT, NEC, etc.
* Handle the contract, execute financial reviews, and continually monitor projected costs while controlling within budget.
* Take ownership of and be responsible for the project cost budget, providing guidance and direction as required.
* Ensure variations to the contracts are priced and agreed at the earliest opportunity.
* Maintain commercial control of projects in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.

* The ability to communicate, influence, and challenge to deliver results.
* Excellent team working skills and experience of dealing with project teams.
* Experience of working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
* The ability to identify risk in projects and implement and manage risks, procedures, and contingencies.
