About the Role Do you have the compassion and expertise to support individuals, including children and families, as they navigate the challenges of life-limiting illnesses and bereavement? Saint Catherine’s Hospice in Scarborough is seeking a dedicated Senior Counsellor to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we care for. At Saint Catherine’s, we provide exceptional care to patients and their loved ones, offering emotional and psychological support during some of life’s most challenging moments. We are expanding our services and are therefore looking for a Senior Counsellor who can not only provide outstanding counselling services but also contribute to the supervision and development of our psychological support team. Key Responsibilities Deliver individual and group counselling to patients, carers, families including children. Provide clinical supervision to counsellors, volunteers and trainees, ensuring the highest professional standards are maintained. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to offer holistic care. Contribute to the development and evaluation of our psychological services, ensuring we meet the diverse needs of our community. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a compassionate and skilled professional with: You hold a recognised counselling or psychotherapy qualification (Level 4 Diploma or above) and are accredited or working towards accreditation with BACP, UKCP, or an equivalent professional body. You have significant experience working with adults, children and young people, particularly in the context of bereavement, loss, or life-limiting illness. You are an experienced clinical supervisor or are willing to undertake supervision training within 12 months. You are empathetic, resilient, and passionate about providing person-centred care.
