A part-time vacancy has arisen for an experienced Healthcare Science Assistant in the Haematology laboratory at Furness General Hospital, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
This is an interesting and challenging position which would ideally suit someone with previous Pathology laboratory experience who is able to work under pressure to extremely high standards.
Based in the Haematology and Transfusion laboratory, you will be joining a busy team providing an essential service for patients in the North Lancashire and South Cumbria area.
You will be contracted to work 30.00 hours over 5 days each week, 13:30-20:00 Monday to Friday.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises.

Person specification
Qualifications
* NVQ 3 in Pathology or equivalent experience
* 3 GCSEs or equivalent including English
Experience
* Experience of working in a Pathology laboratory or Pathology reception
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Awareness of Health and Safety issues
* Awareness of confidentiality issues
* Evidence of written English skills
* Ability to travel between sites
