We are searching for a construction project management specialist with expertise in the Healthcare sector to join our London office as a Senior Project Manager, as our Healthcare team continues to grow in line with new and continued healthcare project wins.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager, or a Project Manager who is ready for their next career step. You will have a background of successfully delivering construction projects for NHS clients, with experience running projects in live environments and acute wards.
Your role as Senior Project Manager will involve a blend of project delivery, supporting junior team members, and management of client relationships.
In your new role, you will be working with NHS clients as well as private healthcare providers across Greater London & the South East, project managing and supporting major refurbishment and remediation projects, new build developments, and high spec fit-outs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
* Positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships.
* Delivering high quality services and ensuring that project management and/or programme management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
* Managing teams to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures.
* Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent or Project Manager.
* Producing and presenting reports to Customers.
* Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realize their full potential.
* Preparing bids for services.
* Managing service delivery for profit.
* Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.
* Actively identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the Business Unit's activities.
About You
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Experience in successfully delivering construction, refurbishment or fit-out projects for NHS clients, specifically in live environments
* Excellent knowledge of NEC3/4 suites of contracts
* Broad, in-depth project management and/or programme management experience post qualification.
* Detailed knowledge and practiced experience of project management techniques.
* Sound knowledge of the industry (including factors affecting it) and construction methods and materials.
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
* Ability to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent and/or Project Manager.
* Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
* Ability to motivate others (including providing support and encouragement) and to lead high performance teams.
* Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
* Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
* Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
* Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
* Sound ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
* Ability to work as part of a team and manage teams.
Qualifications:
* MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors);
* MAPM (Member of the Association of Project Managers);
* MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders);
* MICE (Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers);
* NEC3/4ECC project management accreditation.
