SEMH Teaching Assistant
Fantastic pay rates between £400.00-£500.00 per week.
Monarch Education are actively recruiting a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Trained Teaching Assistant to support a Specialist School in Peterborough.
This exciting opportunity is full-time with the view of becoming a permanent position. The school environment is friendly and culturally family-oriented, offering support and guidance. The hours are typically from 8:00 to 16:00 (depending on the school), Monday to Friday, during term time only.
The school is ideally looking for a skilled Teaching Assistant with experience working with special educational needs, either with children or adults. For the right candidate, this position will become permanent, starting as soon as possible or by April 2025.
In this role, you will support students within a primary school setting with various SEND needs, particularly Social Emotional Mental Health needs. Your responsibilities include supporting students alongside the classroom teacher to boost attainment and aid their social and educational development, maintaining discipline according to school procedures, and encouraging good practice.
Suitable Candidates Can Be Any Of The Following
* Qualified Teaching Assistants
* Experience working in a Special Educational Needs School
* Previous experience as a probation officer
* Health care or support/social work experience
* Graduates in Acting, Music, Performing Arts, Psychology
* Previous SEND Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant experience
* 3-6 months experience working with children
* Sports coach background
* Available to start full-time

Requirements
* Right to work in the UK
* One recent child-based reference (if possible) and relevant DBS/Police checks (support available for DBS application)
Experience working with children in an educational setting, such as nurseries, schools, SEND, or youth work, is preferred.
