We require friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individuals to work as a Relief Porter/Storeperson within the Trust's Hotel Services Team.
The Porter/Storeperson is responsible for providing and maintaining cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient, and communal areas within the Trust, ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.
You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care, putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.
The post holder will be based at Roseberry Park Hospital and will be required to work between 6 am - 6 pm, including weekends and bank holidays.
You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible, also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.
Experience in cleaning duties and the use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion for providing high standards of customer service.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide cleaning and catering services as part of a team, to office, patient, and communal areas within the Trust.
2. To interact compassionately with patients and carers at all times, as patients have a range of mental health conditions or learning disabilities.
3. To show commitment to and participate in quality improvement activities.
4. To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
5. To promote at all times a positive image of Hotel Services and the wider Trust.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Numeracy and Literacy to level 1
* Basic IT and keyboard skills
* NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping or equivalent related to the role
Experience
* Experience in the use of cleaning materials and equipment
* Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health or learning disabilities environment
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH
* Knowledge of National Standard of Cleanliness
* Knowledge of deep-cleaning procedures
* Knowledge of Patient-Lead Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE)
* Good understanding of confidentiality
Skills
* Able to follow protocols and instructions
* Able to demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail in all tasks
* Safe, efficient, and effective techniques in the following areas, producing consistently high standards: Cleaning; Deep cleaning; Use of motorised cleaning equipment e.g. floor scrubber, carpet cleaner; Use of kitchen equipment; Preparation and serving of food; Use and cleaning of regeneration ovens; Washing and ironing
