GSL Education Southampton branch are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools in Gosport. This role offers flexibility with both short-term and long-term placements, providing the opportunity to support students on a one-to-one or small group basis. You will be instrumental in helping students overcome barriers to learning, assisting with their academic and personal development. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs, adapting learning plans and offering tailored support to meet the individual needs of each student. SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCOs to understand and support the unique needs of students with SEN. Implement personalised educational plans and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs. Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and classroom activities. Assist with behaviour management strategies, ensuring a positive and nurturing classroom environment. Help students develop essential communication and social skills. Build strong relationships with students, promoting their overall well-being and engagement in learning. Liaise with parents and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each student. Qualifications and Skills: CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is desirable. A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field. Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, working with students with SEN in a one-to-one or small group setting, is preferred. A strong understanding of supporting students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties etc. Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students succeed.
