Axcis Education have a wonderful new role working at a lovely special needs school in East Bristol as a SEND Teaching Assistant. The students are aged 3-19 with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, Autism and Sensory Impairment. The school has a welcoming atmosphere and are looking for a candidate who is kind, patient and passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs. The hours for this role are 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday – Friday and the daily rate of pay is £93.48. Responsibilities include: - Effectively handling challenging behaviour and meltdowns using de-escalation techniques - Differentiating the curriculum to suit the specific needs and abilities of the students - Collaborating with the teachers and wider school staff to work towards the student’s Education Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) - Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment that focuses on the wellbeing of the students Requirements for this role include experience working with children or adults with SEND, caring and empathetic individuals, strong communication and written English skills and an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
