You ll work with a collaborative team and support the successful completion of audits and statutory filings. We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. Working closely with the Interim Financial Controller, you will play a key role in producing financial statements, supporting tax filings, and ensuring the smooth operation of our statutory audit process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and a proactive approach to financial controls. Key Responsibilities: Statutory Accounts Preparation: Ensure statutory draft accounts are prepared in line with Charity SORP accounting requirements and submitted on time for the statutory audit. Tax Returns: Produce draft VAT and other tax returns for review by the Interim Financial Controller. Audit Support: Respond to queries and provide support to the Interim Financial Controller throughout the annual statutory financial audit, ensuring its success. Control Improvements: Proactively identify areas for improvement in financial controls and implement relevant changes to strengthen processes and compliance. About You: Experience in financial accounting with knowledge of Charity SORP and VAT/tax regulations. Strong technical accounting skills and ability to prepare financial statements. Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Ability to work collaboratively and provide effective support during the audit process. Proactive mindset, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
