A school in North Bristol is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to join their team, based in their Ready to Learn Room. This vital role involves working closely with students who need additional support to regulate their behaviour, stay on task, and succeed in their education.
About the Role:
* Work one-on-one and with small groups of students in the Ready to Learn Room.
* Support students who may have been removed from lessons due to behavioural issues.
* Build strong, positive relationships with students, encouraging them to reflect on their behaviour and take ownership of their learning.
* Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and parents/carers to create and implement behaviour support plans.
* Promote a calm and inclusive environment, ensuring students are supported to reintegrate into the classroom successfully.
* Record and monitor student behaviour and progress, providing regular feedback to the wider pastoral team.
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, confident approach to challenging situations.
* The ability to build rapport quickly with students and inspire positive change.
* Experience working with young people in an educational, pastoral, or similar setting.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Resilience and a commitment to promoting the wellbeing and development of all students.
* A teaching qualification is beneficial but not essential.
