Our client, a leading water sector specialist, is looking for Welder/Fabricators based out of Royston, Hertfordshire.
This is a full-time salary position, Monday - Friday, 40 hour standard week although overtime can be offered. Rate is dependent on skills/experience.
Job Outline
Fabricating and maintaining components used in water treatment, distribution, and storage systems, ensuring compliance with industry norms, including but not limited to:
1. Staircases
2. Handrails
3. Pipework
4. Balustrades
Using a range of fabrication tools and machinery, ensuring all work is completed to top-quality standards and within deadlines. Responsibilities include:
1. Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings to determine work requirements.
2. Using hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal pieces.
3. Inspecting finished products for quality and accuracy.
4. Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
1. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
2. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites if required.
3. Familiarity with piping standards and specifications, with an in-depth understanding of industry-specific piping codes, standards, and regulations.
4. Proven experience in welding and fabrication, with strong knowledge of various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
5. Ability to read and interpret engineering and isometric drawings.
6. City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, or NVQ equivalent in Fabrication/Welding or Mechanical Engineering.
